Yamaha has announced two new hi-fi components with the A-S300 stereo amplifier and the MCR-550 micro system.

Yamaha MCR-550

The A-S300 follows the award-winning A-S500 and delivers 60 watts of power per channel, with an MM phono stage, pure direct mode, tone controls and a loudness control.

It has six audio inputs, two outputs and a subwoofer output, and it will work with either Yamaha’s wired or wireless iPod docks.

The MCR-550 micro system produces 32 watts per channel, and includes an integrated iPod dock that accepts a digital signal, a USB connection, DAB/FM radio, stereo mini-jack input and Yamaha’s own compressed music enhancer.

It comes with its own speakers or you can buy it on its own for £60 less.

Speakers are available in black, brown or white, with the main unit in silver or black. All will be available soon at these prices: A-S300 £230, MCR-550 £280 (£220 without speakers).
