Yamaha's 2010 budget AV receivers

May 28, 2010 — Article

Yamaha has announced its latest AV receivers for 2010.

The three new models are all aimed at the lower end of the market, but still manage to squeeze in four HDMI 1.4 inputs (essential to get the most from 3D), Yamaha’s own YPAO automatic speaker set-up system, and four ‘Scene’ buttons so you can switch easily between the different inputs and your saved preferences.

The entry-level RX-V367 should be with us later in May for £200 and offers 100 watts for each of its 5.1 channels, though it does without HD audio decoding.

A little higher up the ladder, the RX-V467 and RX-V567 should arrive in June for £300 and £400 respectively. Both models come with decoding for DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby True HD, as well as Audio Return Channel (ARC) technology, so they can receive audio as well as video from a TV via the same HDMI 1.4 cable.

The RX-V467 is another 5.1 machine with 105 watts per channel, while the RX-V567 opens out to 7.1 with 90 watts per channel.

All three models will be available in black, silver or titanium finish.
