Pioneer has announced the SE-MJ151, a 60s headphone design with the focus on comfort for the European market.

Drawing on 50 years of headphones experience, the Japanese company promises “retro design, modern sound” from the over-ear design, with soft-fit ear pads made from thick urethane and a deluxe leather look.

Inside, large 40mm drivers promise clear, well-balanced sound and a frequency response of 10-25,000 Hz.

Weighing in at just 135g, they use a lightweight CCAW coil and a single-sided 1.2m cable with a gold-plated 3.5mm mini jack plug.

Available in three colours – red, white and blue – the Pioneer SE-MJ151 is currently available on the continent but has not yet been confirmed for UK release.
