Pioneer has announced a new set of headphones designed for DJs both professional and wannabe.

The HDJ-500 over-ear ‘phones are the latest addition to the Pioneer DJ range and come in towards the lower, more affordable end of the market.
Pioneer says they’ve been tweaked to offer an exceptionally clear low to midrange, which helps to make kick and snare drums more pronounced – essential for helping DJs mix different beats.

The headband is made from a strong, lightweight magnesium alloy and has a rotating arm structure that allows the earpiece to be twisted upward by up to 60 degrees for flipping on and off a single ear in time-honoured DJ fashion, as well as a removable side-mounted cord.

The Pioneer HDJ-500 will be available in red and black livery in November, with a white model due to follow next January for around £90.
