Connectivity solutions provider Gefen introduces the new DVI RS-232 over Fiber Extender that extends large displays up to 1000 feet (300m) from their source, far exceeding previous distance limitations of DVI extension.

The DVI RS-232 over Fiber Extender comes with discreet, installation-friendly sender and receiver units that link local and remote locations with just one SC single fiber optics cable,
streamlining installations with a clean, high quality solution. Long distance RS-232 control is enabled for serial devices, and IR remote controls are also delivered over the same cable.

The DVI RS-232 over Fiber Extender is compatible with all single link DVI sources and displays and may be used with HDMI consumer electronics devices using an optional DVI to HDMI
Adapter. High definition video in resolutions up to 1080p full HD and HDCP compliance allows both computer and home entertainment system compatibility.
