Bowers & Wilkins’ flagship iPod dock, the Zeppelin is now available with multi-room streaming system AirPlay.

B&W Zeppelin Air

The new Zeppelin Air is one of the first speaker docks to feature Apple’s AirPlay wireless audio system, which allows you to stream content via iTunes from PC or Mac computers. It joins Denon’s Ceol and Marantz’s Melody Media streamer, with other devices to follow.

AirPlay allows you to create a multi-room system controlled by your computer, with an onscreen interface which allows you connect several sets of speakers in different rooms at once.

The new version promises to be ‘the best sounding Zeppelin yet’ thanks to a variety of new features, including improved 4 x 25W + 1 x 50W output for its five updated drive units.

Also on board is Bowers & Wilkins’ Flowport technology and advanced Digital Signal Processing in the form of Dynamic EQ which, combined with an upgraded port promise improved bass performance.

The DACs have also been upgraded, with 24bit-96KHz capability for compatibility with newer high-quality audio formats.

You’ll need at least the latest iTunes 10.1 or later to use it (available for free) and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch will require iOS 4.2 or later.

The B&W Zeppelin Air will be available from March for £500.
