Marantz has confirmed that its new flagship SR7005 AV receiver will hit the shops next month.

It offers full compatibility with 3D TV and HD audio, as well as packing almost 1kW of power (7 x 125 watts) and an integrated media player.

It features six HDMI 1.4 inputs and two outputs with the latest 3D-friendly Audio Return Channel and pass-through in standby mode, and also offers upscaling of standard def material using an Anchor Bay Technologies ABT2015 chipset.

The Audyssey’s MultEQ XT PRO room equalisation system is on board, as is a 400Hz Sharc digital signal processor from Analog Devices for the HD audio decoding.

Other Audyssey technologies include DSX processing to offer additional speakers at the front-wide area, Dynamic EQ for clearer listening at low volumes and Dynamic Volume to help equalise differing audio levels. There’s also Dolby ProLogic IIz for enhanced vertical and horizontal spatial performance from the front channels.

The built-in media player can organise streaming music and still images, as well as access internet radio. A USB input offers digital connection for iPods, and the Marantz M-XPort will connect adapters including the RX101 Bluetooth receiver.

The Marantz SR7005 will be available in black or silver from August for £1,400.
