Highlights

Stewart Filmscreen has been manufacturing projection screens for over 65 years, and is particularly renowned for their use in commercial movie theaters worldwide, having won 2 Academy Awards for their products. One of the recent innovations has been the Silver 5D front projection screen material, which gets it name from the fact that it can be used for both 3D and 2D projection.

The Silver 5D fabric offers excellent performance in passive polarized 3D applications, while has sufficient viewing cone and uniformity as a high contrast screen for conventional digital 2D projection without “hot-spotting”. For 3D viewing, the Silver 5D screen offers a 2.0 gain, with a half gain value above 30 degrees and is the only acoustically transparent screen with THX certification for both visual and audio.

Silver 5D was in demonstration at ISE with the Stewart CineCurve, which features a native 2.40:1 image area, for watching Hollywood Cinemascope format movies, while offering two electronically controlled masking panels that glide in from the left and right to give the optimal image for media or movies, with any aspect ratio format.
