Samsung’s ultra slim Series 8 Plasma HDTV

Carrie-Anne Snelson give us the highlights of Samsung’s ultra slim Series 8 Plasma HDTVs at the Sound & Vision Manchester Show 2009.

Measuring just over an inch in depth, Samsung’s 50-inch (PS50B850) Series 8 model, the slimmest 1080p resolution plasma packed with the latest display technologies, was created for new lifestyle installations.

The Series 8 plasma HDTVs are equipped with the Internet@TV – Content Service platform enables users to access internet based multimedia content from their favourite Internet sources.

Samsung’s newest plasma displays are also wireless DLNA-compliant, which allows consumers to enjoy all their media content, wherever it is located in the house, without the hassle of extra cabling.

Additionally, users can connect storage and mobile devices to the USB 2.0 port to play a variety of multimedia files via USB 2.0 Movie, with an expanded list of supported codecs, including 3GPP, MKV, WMV9 and DivX…

Samsung’s new Plasma HDTVs are eco-friendly, meeting the stringent Energy Star® 3.0 efficiency standard. In addition, these HDTVs are constructed using lead-free materials, making them environmentally friendly.
