Quad has launched the latest addition to the companyʼs Elite range of high-performance audio electronics – The Elite QSP.

Quad Elite QSP

The compact Quad Elite QSP (Quad Stereo Power) amplifier replaces the 909 power amp, building upon its predecessorʼs blueprint with upgraded internal components and new circuitry to deliver an even higher level of audio performance.

In developing the Elite QSP, Quad says it has undertaken extensive research into internal screening techniques incorporating custom-made transformers and shielding to protect the amplifier boards from mains hum, promising a clean technical performance and an exceptional dynamic range.

The new amp enjoys the same compact form factor and solidity of build as the 909, but has had a makeover – sporting a redesigned aluminium casting which also allows more efficient heat flow. Despite its relatively compact size, the Elite QSP has plenty of power on tap – 140 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 250 watts into a 4ohm load – so virtually any speakers can be driven with ease.

When it comes to energy saving credentials, the company has announced that the Elite QSP has a standby function that consumes less than one watt of electricity. It can be placed into standby via a button on the front panel, or by remote control, depending on your setup.

The Quad Elite QSP is available now from £1,200.
