Spotify has finally arrived on Philips’s series of Streamium wireless hi-fi systems.

The music streaming service is now available on the MCi8080 and MCi900 via downloadable software update, though you’ll need a subscription to Spotify Premium to get it.

The update is easy enough to download – just switch your system on and it should happen automatically.

Once installed, so long as you have the Premium subscription, you’ll not only be able to access all of Spotify’s huge music catalogue, but you’ll also be able to browse and manage it via your smart phone using the free Philips MyRemote app available from Apple’s App Store and the Android Market.

If you have more than one Philips Streamium player, the app allows you to switch between them and control each one separately.
