The portable system, which received a £150 price drop earlier this month will now be available to ‘try before you buy’ so that potential customers can experience its sound and convenience before parting with their cash.

You can borrow a flight case containing an rCube, as well as the rWand and rWave wireless adapters for streaming music from your network to try at home.

It will come with the latest firmware 1.0.31 upgrade which promises improved sound quality, especially when the rCube’s played loud, better bass performance and extended standby battery life.

It also offers faster switching of the bass mode, improved latency (handy if you’re using rCubes in different rooms) and improved support for older iPod models.

If you already have an rCube you can get the upgrade at your local Arcam dealer at no charge, or download it from the Arcam update and make the upgrade yourself via USB stick.

The rCube free trial is available from these dealers and if you like what you hear, you can buy it for £350.
