Monitor Audio has announced two new i-Deck iPod docks with the i-Deck 100 and i-Deck 200.

Both models make use of C-CAM (ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium) alloy drivers plus tweeters, with each set of speakers powered by its own Class D amplifier.

The i-Deck 100 uses two 7.5cm C-CAM bass drivers, powered by a pair of 30-watt Class D amplifiers, and two 19mm C-CAM Gold dome tweeters driven by two 15-watt amps.

The larger i-Deck 200 meanwhile uses 10cm C-CAM bass drivers combined with two 50-watt amps, and 25mm C-CAM Gold tweeters powered by 25-watt amps.

Both i-Decks take a direct digital signal from iPods/iPhones and feed it through 28/56-bit dual-precision DACs (digital-to-analogue converters). Both have a room equalisation system called Automatic Position Correction (APC), which uses an internal microphone to adjust for the room response when the dock is turned on.

The cabinet is made from mineral-filled polymer with strong damping capabilities and the curved panels are designed to suppress internal audio reflections.

Both come with a remote control, 3.5mm aux input and charging dock connector which will fit any iPod/iPhone.

Both models are available now. The i-Deck 100 costs £299 and the i-Deck 200 is £399.
