IFA 2010: Sharp's video wall

September 13, 2010 — Article

Visitors to Sharp’s stand at the IFA technology fair in Berlin were treated to a huge HD LCD panel display consisting of 54 (count ’em) 60in panels.

The bezel between screens is a mere 6.5mm wide, though we could still see the gaps, just about.

The floor and wall video display, constructed from Sharp’s new PN-V601 professional LCD panels, showed some short films about Sharp’s business and product range at the show.

Grace Liang, Commercial AV Product Manager at Sharp Electronics (UK) said: “Our PN-V601 represents a new benchmark for the slim bezel monitor market. With the new 60in screen size, a 13ft x 7ft video wall can be created with just nine monitors, where it would take sixteen competitive 46in monitors to produce a comparable wall (100 square metres). This also means significant reductions in overall purchase, installation and power consumption costs, depending on the final wall size.”
