SIM2 C3X LUMIS UNO projector

June 10, 2010 — Article

Italian projector manufacturer SIM2 has introduced the latest projector from its Grand Cinema C3X series – the C3X LUMIS UNO.

SIM2 claims it’s the smallest, Full HD three-chip projector on the market, and boasts the latest 0.95in 1080p DC4 DLP chipset from Texas Instruments as well as SIM2’s own, newly redesigned ALPHAPATH light engine to deliver impressive colour depth, black level performance, contrast ratio and brightness.

The new ALPHAPATH light engine features a new die-cast aluminium body designed to improve thermal management of the light engine, which means a more powerful lamp can be used to deliver brighter images. A new tapered rod-integrator has also been fitted, designed to accept the raw illumination from the lamp and convert it into a pure and refined beam of light. This new design apparently helps to improve brightness uniformity and efficiency of light transmission.

The C3X LUMIS UNO also features two selectable HDMI inputs (both fully HDCP-compliant), as well as composite, S-video, component and an RGBHV (VGA) connection. RS-232 serial and USB ports are included too, plus there’s 12-volt trigger outputs, IR-sensor inputs and various lens throw ratios from 1.31 to 3.9:1 and anamorphic projection functionality for films in 2:35:1.

The C3X LUMIS UNO is available now in a ‘moonlight silver’ finish for £18,995.
