SIM2 working with Francis Ford Coppola

High-end projector giant SIM2 has announced a ‘working partnership’ with iconic film director Francis Ford Coppola.

A long-time collector of projectors, from vintage to modern, Coppola has been acquiring projectors from SIM2 recently both for on-the-road viewing of rushes and for more detailed work at his Zoetrope studios, where he’s working on a restoration of his classic Godfather trilogy for Blu-ray. He owns a SIM2 HT5000 projector (price, around £30,000), apparently, from which arose the partnership between the five-time Oscar winner and a team of the Italian firm’s engineers.

Coppola said: “I have owned many projectors in my life: SIM2 is now in both my studios and my home.” The cinema legend will feature in a global marketing campaign for the firm later this year.
