October 19, 2010

Highlights

New from the USA is Peachtree, offering a range of products with a difference. Formed by a group of audiophiles who realised that they were storing more and more audio media onto hard disc storage they set out to ensure that when they played it back it was still to the high standards they expected.

With a built in iPod dock the iDecco is unique in that it is a class A valve preamplifier with high quality design that take the digital signal from your iPod directly to the onboard specialist DAC.

Processing in the digital domain ensures purity of sound and with a well designed clock the digital decoding is perfect. The iDecco has a high-current 40 watt-per-channel amplifier that also has a class A headphone circuit.

As with all portable media the bit rate will vary yet taking the time to record your music at the highest data rate will ensure a higher quality of playback.

With several models in the range the Peachtree products are one to watch.
