Pure Sound M845 And L10 Pre-Amplifier Class A Output With Class A Sound Performance (Manchester Show 2010)

October 19, 2010

Highlights

Guy Sergeant gives an overview of the Pure Sound M845 power amplifier. The M845 design is based around a power triode valve originally produced by RCA as a audio valve until they stopped production but it is now made by the Chinese with good reliability and success.

This is a 30w class A design with a simple circuit design that uses an inter-stage driver amplifier that controls the triode valve very well producing a clean well controlled, detailed output.

Although driven at the show by their established L300 pre-amplifier the new L10 pre-amplifier has been designed to work well with the M845. Having a remote controlled volume and several inputs it is versatile yet maintains the valve concept in its design.
