Sim2 UK are excited to offer a new screen from Screen Innovations, the Black Diamond II has a gain of .8 and is the only screen to be able to operate effectively outside the normal light controlled environment for projector screens.

The screen material has seven different optical coatings that control reflected light and the way it is reflected and absorbed by the screen.

In a dark environment a standard screen will reflect light onto the walls, floors, and ceilings only to be reflected back onto the screen washing out the picture. The Black Diamond II reduces light scatter by over 75%, increasing viewer immersion and effective contrast.

In a bright environment the Black Diamond II is the only screen that absorbs all unwanted ambient light in a room. Ambient light is absorbed above, below, and even in the path of the projector, allowing the screen to maintain and preserve the projectors contrast. Only the projectors light is reflected back to the viewer creating over 300% more contrast compared to other screens.

Effectively changing the rule book for how we view our projectors this new screen is not only innovative, it is creative in allowing projectors to be specified in non standard environments.
