Sharp LE920, 820 & 810 LED LCD TV Series with Quad Pixel technology (CES 2010)

January 19, 2010

Highlights

Judah Zeigler, Associate Vice President, presents the three next-generation set of UltraBrilliant Edge-lit AQUOS LED LCD TVs. Normal TV’s work with only red, green and blue pixels, while Sharp introduces proprietary four-primary-colour technology with a yellow sub pixel to their three new lines of TVs, LE920, LE820 & LE810, allowing a jump from 1 billion colours for RGB pixel devices to 1 trillion colours for the new Quad Pixel panels.

For the first time in the industry the displays employ a four colour filter that adds the colour yellow to the conventional red green and blue. This combination expands the colour gamut, faithfully rendering nearly all colours that can be discerned with the unaided human eye.

Quad Pixel technology enables the display to reproduce colours that have been difficult to portray using conventional LCD displays, such as the golden yellow colour of brass instruments.

A 240hz refresh rate ensures motion blur is kept to a minimum whilst Voodoo HD TV service and Netflix for movies on demand are supported on certain models in the range.

Get the details on all the screen sizes soon to be available.
