October 05, 2009

Highlights

DTS is a digital entertainment company that is committed to providing the best possible audio solutions for their consumers and partners. Having adapted the movie format for the domestic market in the 1990’s and being a mandatory format for Blu-ray, they are now looking to apply High Definition audio technologies in many applications.

Premium suite is an intricate part of Intel’s new processor platform ad it takes audio processing away from the CPU and processes it separately increasing battery life, and speed. Aimed at Blu-ray drives on a laptop, a whole disc can be watched on one battery charge thanks to the power saving abilities of the suite.

It consists of five attributes; DTS Connect which interfaces your PC to your AV system. Surround Sensation, a virtual surround process that takes 5.1 and mixes it to 2 channels keeping all the important audio cues without the need for multiple speakers.

DTS Symmetry that copes with multi input sources audio levels allowing you to preset the level and Symmetry will maintain and equalising the levels. Boost, increases the amount of sound you can get from your PC speakers by post processing that makes use of the extended headroom of the speakers without inducing distortion, and finally DTS HD Master audio recording.

Appearing soon Premium suite will increase the flexibility and operational ease of those looking to use laptops for home entertainment.
