Cabasse and the business’ new owners, AwoX, are enhancing the functionality of its popular Stream range of streaming audio products with the launch of the multi-function StreamCONTROL app and the addition of Spotify. The new app brings greater control of high fidelity digitally stored music, control of AwoX lighting products and the promise of future expandability.
AwoX (Euronext – FR0011800218 – AWOX), a pure player in connected objects and Smart Home technologies, has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of French company Cabasse from the Canon Group.
In the majestic surroundings of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) revealed the winners of its ninth annual CEDIA Awards, which celebrates design, installation and integration excellence in the home technology sector. The black tie gala with an audience of over 300 guests from the residential custom installation, interior design and architecture worlds attended this special annual event. This year there were more than 150 impressive entries from 16 different countries competing for the prestigious CEDIA honours in 17 categories in addition to 3 special awards.
MartinLogan, renowned for its high-end speakers, has put to work its dedicated in-house design and engineering team to create Crescendo, a lifestyle table-top wireless speaker system in a sleek, compact design while not compromising sound quality. Crescendo features dual audiophile Folded Motion™ dome tweeters that are combined with a front-firing mid/bass driver to achieve deep, extended bass response.
Devialet’s first product, the D-Premier launched in 2010, created quite a stir in the hi-fi industry by introducing the company’s unique ADH® (Analogue Digital Hybrid) technology. Now the company has announced a major new firmware release (v7.1) which introduces a host of improvements to both performance and functionality while including their SAM (Speaker Active Matching) technology, which is sophisticated digital processing that enables Devialet components to be precisely matched to a particular pair of speakers.
Four decades of continuous development have long established KEF’s The Reference range as a benchmark for high-end loudspeakers and acoustic engineering and the new generation continues this legacy. HIGH END 2014 in Munich showed significant growth again to reach 18,000 visitors, double that of 10 years ago, of which about one-third were from the trade. This year’s edition welcomed 452 exhibitors showing 900 different brands. As ever, we attended the show where there were numerous product launches and remarkable demonstrations. The Waterfall Audio flagship speaker Niagara is now using platinium glass to enable them to be perfectly coordinated with the other speakers in the range for those clients wanting to create a home cinema system in beautiful glass using the Victoria or Iguascu as surround speakers. Watch the video to admire that Waterfall has also reduced the thickness of the glass down to 10 mm, as well as, particularly, the quality of the bevelled glass horn tweeter that takes more than 10 hours to achieve.
