The Chord Company Launch Two New Cables: See How Chord Cables Are Made Now In Video

August 11, 2008 — Article

The Chord Company have today launched two new cables the Signet and Signature Plus. Not only this but the company is offering existing owners, and buyers of the less expensive of the two, an upgrade path.

Owners of Chord’s Signature cable and purchasers of Chord’s new Signet cable can upgrade to Signature Plus specification at a cost of £225. The process involves a complete re-build of the cable. The original low mass RCA plug is removed and new ones are fitted in their place. The secondary signal return conductor is added and the acrylic plug surrounds are fitted.

Chord’s new Signet cable is fitted with the same low mass; silver-plated RCA plug as the original Signature. Construction is almost identical – only missing Signature’s optional grounding cables. The similarities in materials and construction ensure that the performance characteristics of the Signet are directly comparable to the original Chord Signature RCA.

Chord is known for the long lifecycles of its products, it does not change models as often as a rock star. As an example; Chord’s most successful cable Chorus has been in production unchanged for ten years. Only now, when Chord can design in significant improvements, is it changing.

Signet’s suggested retail price is £495.00 showing a considerable saving over the original Signature. A one metre long Signature Plus will cost £725 inc. VAT.

Owners wishing to upgrade their cables should contact their local Chord retailer or the Chord Company directly.
