The initial m series models comprise two three-way floorstanding speakers, the flagship M350, with four 5 1⁄4in (13.3cm) woofers and a 4in (11.4cm) midrange. The slightly smaller M340 with four 4in (11.4cm) woofers and a two-way bookshelf model M25, with one 5 1⁄4in (13.3cm) woofer. The four-woofer construction keeps the cabinet slim while maintaining a serious deep bass performance.

The M350, M340 and M25 utilize the Extended Wide Bandwidth (EWB) tweeter and Boston Acoustics Lo-QTM cabinet construction for purer sound reproduction and minimal interference from the cabinet.

Boston Acoustics says the symmetric mass loading on the midrange driver (M350 & M340) results in a very linear frequency response and significant further reduction of distortion, best appreciated in the midrange which has to reproduce the most important part of vocals and the first harmonics of acoustic instruments.

All of the m series models are designed to seamlessly mix and match with other Boston Acoustics speakers regardless of the system configuration and speaker types.

The first products from the m series – M350, M340 and M25 – will be available end of August 2012 in gloss black lacquer and traditional walnut veneer, both with black faux leather trim. To complete the new family, further models will be introduced in autumn this year. Prices are:

M350 £2,200
M340 £1,700
M25 £580
