Onkyo has announced its first Spotify-enabled one-box micro hi-fi system.

The CR-N755 Networked CD Hi-Fi Mini receiver is Onkyo’s first to offer immediate access to the most popular online streaming music services – including Spotify, Last.fm, AUPEO! and vTuner by simply entering your account details.
It also offers access to thousands of free internet radio stations and network-based digital music libraries. 


Free remote apps for iPhone/iPod touch and Android-based devices allow browsing on all of the above services from smartphones, streaming the chosen content to the CR-N755 via the home network with just a few taps on the touchscreen.

As well as the front-loading CD player and AM/FM tuner, the unit has a USB port to digitally link an iPhone, iPod, or flash-memory device for better sound quality – with playback/track selection controlled using the system remote.



An optional Bluetooth adaptor means you can wirelessly stream CD-quality audio to the CR-N755 from almost any mobile phone or smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.

For a sound quality boost to HDTV, the CR-N755 connects directly to your TV’s optical output.

Onkyo has crammed in all the high-end features usually associated with its separates – WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology), VLSC noise-mitigation technology and its Phase-Matching Bass Boost system. The company claims that these technologies respectively coax new life from recorded music, slash digital pulse noise to negligible levels and preserve midrange clarity with a powerful low-frequency presence.

The system is fitted with 9 kHz/24-bit optical and coaxial digital inputs (for connecting a Mac or PC for a lossless sound) and a 192 kHz/24-bit DAC for high-resolution audio.



For a complete system there’s also the option of Onkyo’s D-055 bookshelf speakers, fitted with N-OMF (Onkyo Micro Fibre) speaker cones.

The Onkyo CR-N755 Network CD Mini Hi-Fi Receiver with Spotify is available from September starting at £300 or £450 with D-055 two-way speakers (unit and speakers available in black or silver). Optional Bluetooth (UBT-1 aptX) and Wifi (UWF-1 ) Adaptors retail for £50.
