September 06, 2011 — Article

Onkyo has unveiled four new stereo components: the A-9070 stereo amplifier (£900), C-7070 CD player (£450), T-4070 network tuner (£700) and high-end A-9000R stereo amplifier (£1300).

Onkyo A-9070 stereo amplifier

The A-9070 amplifier is a parallel push-pull design, with three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry, Wolfson 192kHz/24-bit DACs and MM/MC phono stage. It can be used in four different ways – as an integrated amp, a power amp, a preamp or as a split preamp/power amp, depending on what you need.

Onkyo C-7070 CD player

The C-7070 CD player uses vibration-damping brass legs and comes in a rigid 1.6mm thick base panel with full-floating circuit board and matching Wolfson 192kHz/24-bit DACs.

You can connect an iPod or iPhone via USB port, which can also be used to play back music from flash memory drives.

Onkyo T-4070 network tuner

The T-4070 tuner meanwhile includes FM and DAB+ as standard, and can also connect to a home network to access internet radio and streaming services like Spotify.

Onkyo A-9000R stereo amplifier

The A-9000R stereo amp was developed from the P-3000R preamp and M-5000R power amp which came out last year. It includes A-WRAT technology, Onkyo’s newly developed Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction circuitry and USB playback of HD audio.

It’s a quad push-pull design with larger capacitors than the A-9070, but can also be configured in one of four different modes.

All four devices go on sale in a choice of silver or black in October.
