Philips has revealed the latest incarnation of its ultra-wide Cinema 21:9 Platinum TV, claiming it’s the ‘fastest LED ever’.

The company says it has a 0.5 millisecond response time as well as advanced new features including a 1200Hz Perfect Motion Rate.

It still uses active 3D technology and Philips has now added the two-player full-screen gaming feature that was originally announced as part of its 9000 series in March.

It still includes Ambilight Spectra 3 surround lighting as well as Smart TV and Multi-View capability, which splits the screen into windows for watching several sources at the same time.

It’s top of Philips’ range, ahead of the Cinema 21:9 Gold which uses Easy 3D, has a 400Hz Perfect Motion Rate, and should be available at around half the price of the Platinum.

The Cinema 21:9 Platinum is due in the UK later this month for £4,000.
