The TVs each come with seven pairs of passive 3D glasses, built-in Wi-Fi and what LG calls a ‘magic remote’. They’ll be available in 47in and 55in screen sizes, but with a depth of just 2.6cm.

Both feature Smart TV functionality, 2D-to-3D conversion, web browser, a pair of USB connections with DiVX PLus/HD playback, four HDMI sockets and an energy saving mode.

LG’s Smart TV now includes 175 different apps, including BBC iPlayer, ITN, Facebook and Twitter, plus more than 9,000 films and TV shows via Blinkbox.

For the first time in Europe, LG is showing its LG PZ850T PenTouch 3D active-shutter plasma TV, which features a touch-sensitive screen which allows you to control content by writing or drawing on the screen using special ‘Touch Pens’.

If LG decides to go ahead with a commercial launch, the PenTouch TVs will be available in 50in and 60in sizes and they’ll come with a single pair of active-shutter glasses. All have THX 3D certification.

Jay Vandenbree, senior vice president, home entertainment at LG Electronics USA said: "Touch displays have become the norm in mobile phones and tablets, but remain almost unheard of in TVs. The PenTouch TV brings all the excitement of touch displays, computers and the internet to the world of television, with functions and programs that are great fun and really educational. Families, in particular, will have more than ever to enjoy on LG PenTouch TV plasma screens.
