LG’s latest 2011 TV range featuring the ‘world’s first flicker free 3D’ and the company’s award-winning Smart TV technologies arrive in UK stores next week.

LG LW4500

The new range includes what LG claims is ‘the world’s first flicker-free 3D TV range’, the LW450U, LW550T and LW650T series, which use passive, polarised glasses, the same as the ones you’ll get in 3D cinemas, available in screen sizes ranging from 32 to 55 inches.

Each Cinema 3D TV is sold with seven pairs of glasses, with extra pairs available from £2 each. The frames are lightweight, with no need for batteries, charging or synchronization with the TV. They also promise an ‘ultra wide’ viewing angle so it’s easier to appreciate the 3D effect.

The new TVs also include LG’s Smart TV internet platform, offering access to a range of services including apps, online video services and social networking sites. Sites and services include BBC i-Player, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter and AccuWeather.

Stephen Gater, CE Marketing Director, said: “This is a very exciting time for LG, we strongly believe in the real benefits that these new technologies will bring to consumers. With research showing that 88% per cent of consumers prefer the viewing experience of Cinema 3D TVs, it is great to think that for the first time ever, LG is bringing the 3D experience that consumers enjoy so much in Cinemas to the comfort of home.”

In a special short-term offer, Sky customers can get up to £400 off an LG Cinema 3D TV until 7th June.
