Vita Audio has announced the latest incarnation of its classic R4 music system with the R4i.

On board are a multi format CD player, iPod dock, USB playback port, DAB, DAB+ and FM tuner and auxiliary inputs along with an 80-watt amplifier and 2.1 speaker system.

Revised audio circuitry optimisation promises greater audio clarity and a new CD suspension arrangement provides improved tracking and shock resistance. The power supply has also been redesigned and upgraded to meet upcoming EU standby regulations.

As well as the standard Rich Walnut real wood veneer, high gloss Midnight Black and Dream White finishes, the R4i will also be available in a limited edition ‘sparkling graphite’ high-gloss lacquer with silver grilles.

The Vita Audio R4i goes on sale in May for £630.
