Swedish audio specialist Primare has announced two new high-end hi-fi separates with the I32 amplifier and CD32 CD player.

Both CD and amp cost £2,200 each and are joined by the R32 MM/MC phono stage for £850.

The CD32 includes a dedicated CD-transport with a pair of high-performance Burr-Brown PCM1704 DACs and a DF1706 digital filter.

Connections include XLR and RCA outputs, SPDIF and TOS-Link digital outputs, and there’s support for MP3 and WMA files from CD or via USB connection.

The I32 integrated amplifier meanwhile features Primare’s UFPD technology, which promises “a new and significant Class D technology”.

Offering 2 x 120 watts, it uses Primare’s own power supply to claim a high power output with very low distortion. The preamplifier section is isolated from the power supply, with both encased in a heavy alloy steel chassis. On the back are two pairs of balanced XLRs, plus three RCA inputs.

The I32 is also due to have a media streaming upgrade option available later offering additional digital connections for USB, iPod and LAN to enable streaming of files from internet, NAS drive or PC.

The R32 phono stage includes a single pair of RCA inputs and a pair of RCA outputs.

All three components are available now in black or titanium finish.
