Philips has today announced a new TV service that allows you to customise your telly to suit your home décor.

Philips’ Design Your Own TV allows Philips 7000 buyers to customise their new TV with a choice of eight colours for the frame and stand – including White Gloss, Dark Metallic, Satin Champagne and Velvet Purple. There’s also a choice of three finishes for the remote control.

The service is available for the Philips 7000 series of Ambilight-enhanced LED LCD TVs via Philips’s website and once you have designed your TV via the website, you can share your design ideas via Facebook, Twitter or other social media channels.

The service is available now for an extra £50 to buyers of the 32in or 42in models in Philips’ 7000 series of LED TVs.
