After a sneaky pic at this year’s IFA show, Marantz has now confirmed delivery of its PM-KI Pearl Lite integrated stereo amplifier and SA-KI Pearl Lite CD/SACD player.

The new models are more affordable versions of the company’s limited edition Pearl series, each of which was created last year by the brand’s ambassador and long-time audio engineer Ken Ishiwata to celebrate their 30-year partnership.

The PM-KI Pearl Lite stereo amplifier features a new cabinet construction and delivers 70 watts per channel as well as incorporating a full discreet current feedback amplifier circuit using the latest HDAM-SA3 technology. It has a tri-tone control (bass, middle and treble) to help make the most of compressed digital sources as well as a ‘source direct’ audiophile option and a moving magnet phono stage for vinyl playback.

The SA-KI Pearl Lite CD/SACD player is prepared for modern music collections with the ability to play SACD, CD, CD-RW, MP3, and WMA tracks, while the transport used is the same Xyron unit from the original SA-KI Pearl. It also includes HDAM-SA2 technology, a Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC, and a front-sited iPhone/iPod digital input.

The DAC MODE function means it can be used as a DA-Converter via not only the optical and coaxial inputs, but also via the rear panel’s USB (Type B) input, so you can directly connect a PC or media player with higher quality reproduction.

The Marantz PM-KI and SA-KI Pearl Lite are available now in black or silver/gold finishes for £900 each.
