Marantz unleashed a total of 18 new products at this year’s IFA show in Berlin, including four new AV receivers, an AV preamplifier, two power amps, and a pair of universal Blu-ray players.

Marantz SR5005 and UD5005

The slimline NR1601 joins a trio of more conventional multichannel receivers – the SR5005 (pictured), SR6005, and networking SR7005 – and all four units bring 3D-friendly HDMI 1.4a, as well as 3D support and iPod digital connection via USB input.
The AV7005 AV pre-amplifier can be added to the MM7055 five-channel power amp, while the two-channel MM7025 can add a further 280 watts to its big brother’s 700 watts of total available power.
The UD5005 (pictured) and UD7005 Blu-ray players continue the Marantz tradition of SACD playback as well as CD and support DLNA 1.5 for audio and video streaming from home networks.
On the two-channel side of the fence, Marantz is now offering ‘Lite’ versions of its Premium KI Pearl CD player and amp. The PM-KI Pearl Lite and SA-KI Pearl Lite “bring the musical philosophy of the limited edition Premium KI Pearl system to a more affordable price range”. Both Pearls should go on sale later this month for £999 each.
Joining the new Pearls are the entry-level CD5004 and PM5004 CD player and amp, while the PM7004 offers a new mid-price integrated option.
The Marantz Melody Series offers a trio of all-in-one systems. Joining last year’s M-CR502DAB are the Melody Music (M-CR503), the Melody Media (M-CR603) and Melody Movie (M-ER803, pictured).

The Melody Music adds extra power, an iPod/iPhone digital compatible USB input, and Marantz’s own M-XPort to the ‘502’s armoury, while the Melody Media brings network support capabilities as well. Meanwhile the Melody Movie is a compact Blu-ray receiver with Full HD 1080p output, and compatibility with Marantz’s optional RX101 wireless Bluetooth audio receiver.
The NA7004 network audio player (£699) is designed to make the best of digital music, an audiophile quality DAC and an audio stage applying the company’s proprietary HDAM-SA2. It will play DAB, FM and internet radio, it’s DLNA v1.5 certified, has digital iPod in, M-Xport and three further digital inputs (optical, coaxial, USB).
