Dynaudio has announced two new models for its DM speaker range with the DM 3/7 floorstander and the £450 DM Centre.

The two-way DM 3/7 features two identical 17cm MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) mid/bass drivers which include 75mm aluminium voice coils and rigid, low-resonance die-cast aluminium driver baskets.

The company claims that the large internal cabinet volume surrounding the 25mm front baffle helps deliver “a powerful, dynamic bass performance”.

The tweeter meanwhile uses a specially-coated 28mm textile dome, a lightweight aluminium voice coil, plus ferrofluid damping and a powerful internal magnet.

Sensitivity is claimed as 86dB and maximum power handling 200 watts, which Dynaudio says should make it compatible with a wide variety of amplifiers.

Also new is the DM Centre, which comes with a soft-dome tweeter surrounded by a pair of 11cm MSP bass/mid drivers. It’s designed to stand on an angled metal plinth to help the sound disperse upwards, and can be used with DM 3/7 floorstanders or DM 2/7 standmount speakers at the front, and with DM 2/6 models at the rear for a surround sound set-up.

The Dynaudio DM 3/7 and DM Centre are available now in either rosewood or black ash laminate finishes for £1,299 and £450 respectively.
