Keen to cram everything possible into its devices, Sony’s ICF-C717PJ combines an iPod dock with FM/AM clock radio, thermometer, and a variable angle projector.
This last won’t give the likes of SIM2 or Epson a scare since it only projects the time as a super-sized display onto the wall or ceiling. It also has a series of five ambient nature sounds (undersea world, waves, mountain brook, rainfall or birdsong) which it can play either to rouse you gently from slumber or to help you drift off.
The ICF-C717PJ’s projector can be angled via a dial on the side to find the optimum projection angle and includes a battery back-up if you’re on the move or there’s a power cut and displays the ambient temperature in the room. iPods or other digital music players can be connected via 3.5mm jack.
The Sony ICF-C717PJ will be on sale from April, though this being Sony, there’s no word yet on price.
