Sony MDR-570, MDR-370, MDR-EX77LP and MDR-EX57 headphones

Sony has launched four new cheap n cheerful looking headphones, two for over-ears and two in-ear types.

The MDR-570s is a closed-cup headphone with an ultra-slim headband and thin urethane-cushioned earpads. Inside each is a 30mm neodymium driver that can deliver a single watt of input power. The ear cups can swivel flat for travelling and it comes with a cord length adjuster and gold-plated mini jack. They’re available in black, orange, green, brown and indigo blue.

The MDR-370 features a similar spec and look but it’s an open-back design, which should offer greater audio clarity. Again, there’s a cord adjuster and 30mm neodymium driver but it weighs less than half as much as the MDR-570 and comes in a choice of pink, blue, green or white.

Both the MDR-EX77LP and MDR-EX57 are in-ear designs with 9mm neodymium drivers, and come with a carry case and a handy cord length adjuster. The MDREX77LP is available in black or white, and the more extrovert MDR-EX57s in black, white, blue, violet or pink.

No word yet on price but all should be in the shops in April.
